Square Bars

Neeka Tubes manufactures and supplies square bars in stainless steel and other alloy grades, serving construction, machinery and fabrication applications in India and overseas. Square bar is a solid metal section with a uniform size in length in square cross section, used for structural and fabrication work. Grades 304 and 316 are mostly stock. Other grades are sourced against confirmed order quantities. As one of the established square bars suppliers, the range covers small precision sections for detailed work as well as heavier bars built for industrial load-bearing.

Chemical composition and product requirements are specified according to the applicable ASTM A276 or ASTM A479 specification, with chromium and nickel content fixed per grade to control corrosion resistance. 304 carries close to 18% chromium and 8% nickel. 316 adds molybdenum, around 2 to 3%, which lifts resistance to chloride exposure. Minimum tensile strength depends on the stainless steel grade and applicable specification; common austenitic grades such as 304 and 316 have minimum tensile strengths around 515 MPa in the annealed condition, yield strength is around 205 MPa depending on section size, and hardness is under 217 HB in the annealed condition.

Machining, welding and cutting go without unusual difficulty on these sections, which keeps fabrication simple on site. Consistent dimensions help maintain alignment during fabrication, although welding fixtures and distortion control may still be required. Support brackets, machine frames, furniture legs and structural components can be fabricated from stainless steel square bars. Smaller sections suit detailed or decorative work. Larger ones carry heavier loads in construction and equipment bases.

ASTM A276, A479 and ASME SA479 cover the supply standards, with thicknesses from 5mm up to 200mm and custom sizes available on request. Finishes span hot-rolled, cold-drawn, black, polished and pickled. Supply conditions include annealed, cold-worked and as-rolled, depending on the application’s mechanical requirements.

FAQs:

What grades of stainless steel square bars are available?

Grades 304 and 316 cover common requirements, while other grades can be supplied for specific project requirements. 316 carries added molybdenum, which improves resistance in chloride and marine environments compared to 304. Other grades can be sourced against confirmed quantities.
Sections run from 5mm up to 200mm, covering standard stock sizes and custom cuts. Length and thickness are confirmed against the drawing or project specification before the order moves to production.
Load, environment and fabrication method decide the grade and section size. 304 suits many general fabrication environments, while 316 is generally preferred where chloride or marine exposure is more demanding. Section thickness should match the load calculation done for that specific project.
The corrosion resistance holds up across most industrial environments, and tensile strength in the annealed condition stays above 515 MPa. Bars machine and weld without cracking under normal fabrication practices. Dimensional accuracy along the length also keeps alignment consistent during assembly.
Bars are supplied to ASTM A276, ASTM A479 and ASME SA479, covering chemical composition and mechanical property limits for each grade. Each dispatch is accompanied by a mill test certificate for traceability.
Send the grade, section size, length and quantity required, and a quote will be prepared against that specification. Custom sizes or finishes may need additional confirmation before pricing is finalised.
